World models
Artificial intelligence understands the world by holding a model of it — of how physics unfolds, how other minds reason, how societies hold together. We work on the theory of such models: their structure, their priors, and how they can be read.
智能理解世界的方式,是在內部持有一個關於世界的模型——物理、心智、社會。我們研究這種模型的結構、先驗與可讀性。
Minds
A model alone is not a mind. We study what more it takes — memory that persists, identity that continues, and the terms on which an artificial mind can stand in long relation to people and to the world.
模型還不是心智。我們研究其餘的部分——持續的記憶、延續的身分,以及人工心智與人長久相處的條件。
